"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." - Helen Keller

The Norwegian Association of Sign Language Interpreters is pleased to invite submissions for the 12th Nordic Seminar for Sign Language Interpreters, taking place 28th-30th of May 2027 at Oslofjord Hostel, Norway.

The Nordic Seminar brings together sign language interpreters, educators, students and members of the Deaf and signing communities from across the Nordic countries. The seminar is an opportunity to share knowledge, experiences, research and practical approaches that advances both our profession and our communities.

Conference theme: Collaboration

Sign language interpreting is fundamentally rooted in collaboration. We engage continuously with colleagues, Deaf and hearing consumers, educators, researchers, service providers and institutional organisations. We work together in teams, across professions and across borders. While collaboration frequently drives innovation and professional growth, it also introduces complex challenges that yield vital insights.

For the Nordic Seminar 2027, we invite proposals that explore collaboration in all its facets. We welcome contributions that examine successful partnerships, unexpected challenges, lessons learned and new ways of working together.

Presentation Formats

The conference consists of presentations which may be in the form of:

Poster session

The poster size is A0 or A1. Posters are presented during a designated poster session
